fluoride
If you are from regular need of fillings or if root caries (decay from the root of the tooth which occurs when the gums have receded due to gum disease and the root has been exposed) is a problem, it may be worth considering a fluoride rinse or gel. Fluoride strengthens teeth as they grow from the jaw and, when they appear from the mouth it helps strengthen the enamel, that covers the tooth, making teeth more resistant to decay.
A powerful cavity-fighting agent, fluoride is a natural substance like iron or calcium which enhances the remineralization process of the enamel and makes tooth surfaces more resistant to acid erosion.
Before considering additional fluoride treatments, over and above using fluoride toothpaste, consult your dentist or oral oral hygenist.
